After the Event - a look back at the inaugural Stoneleigh Sculpture in the Gardens |

After the Event
Twenty seven of New Zealand’s leading sculptors were selected to exhibit in the inaugural Stoneleigh Sculpture in the Gardens hosted by the Auckland Botanic Gardens for 3 months
last summer.
Over those 3 months 300,000 people walked the 1.8 km sculpture trail to experience and enjoy excellent sculpture in the Botanics' splendid varied settings.
The aim of 'After the Event' is to spread awareness of this major biennial sculpture initiative.
The exhibition is in three parts - the concept drawings, a 15 minute DVD of the 'Event'
with artists interviews and a show of sculpture / maquettes by the Sculpture in the Gardens participating artists. A quality A5 Sculpture in the Gardens catalogue with text by writer / curator Alexa Johnston will accompany the exhibition.
